My experience is 21 years. My father was the first man to work as a mountain porter in this village. In 1988 my father took me on a trek with six French and American guests. When we reached the second campsite, at 2,639 meters, my father took me to the summit the next morning.

I had not done the summit myself before, but I knew I had to do this for my father. It was hard, but finally I did it. After that I became a guide and trekked the mountain many times. By 1993 I started as a guide, taking many groups up the mountain each month. I worked as a guide for years, meeting people of all nationalities, which helped me learn English, German and French.

After working as a guide for years, I became a trek organizer, arranging different treks for many different people. I work with many tour agents across Lombok, the Gili Islands and Bali. I continue to arrange many treks and give all customers a pre-trek talk, so every guest understands the itinerary and the safety precautions before they start their trek.
